Yes — to some extent. It’s not a tiny “travel bowl,” but it’s more portable than most traditional setups, and people do use it in mobile setups. Plus, the packaging helps a lot — the bowl comes packed tightly in a protective foam case, which keeps it secure and reduces the risk of breaking when you’re on the go.
Never. Because the coals sit in open air and burn naturally, they burn much slower. In a traditional setup, every puff pulls the heat downward, causing the coals to burn out faster and constantly need replacing. With the Side Fire design, the coals burn evenly all the way through—you just add more when you want to maintain heat. You’re going to save money by never tossing out half-used coals again.
